2015 Sania Ahuja

Hey there, my name is Sania Ahuja and I’m studying Finance & Accounting in the Business School in the Canadian University of Dubai. I’m an Indian born in Nigeria, Lagos, and brought up in Dubai. I’ve been here most of my life however I do frequent my trips to India as much as I can to meet family. Unfortunately, India has one of the most prominent displays of the needy and homeless. The situation has been improving over the years but it’s still nowhere near as good or even decent as it’s supposed to be. Living in Dubai it’s such a stark contrast to the luxury available here and to the abundance of need for basic supplies like food and clean water on the streets there. I can’t even begin to imagine the hardships the homeless go through, needing a roof over their heads in bad weather or not having a home to go back to for a warm meal or a warm bed. That’s why, supporting this 5 days homeless campaign is important to me, to help me feel like I’m aiding, supporting or even comforting such people. To know that I’ve made a difference and somewhere, somehow my contribution and efforts has made a less fortunate person smile.
