I am Belinda Elpidia De-Mello. I am from Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania and was born on 2nd September 1994. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in Accounting and Finance at the Canadian University of Dubai. I moved to Dubai in 2013, and I am currently in my second semester. All my life I have lived in Tanzania, a third world country where many people suffer from shortage of basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. People overlook what the less fortunate are going through. I feel that it is always good to help the poor, help them overcome poverty. At the end of the day we are all human beings, and I think that everybody should at least somehow help the poor, the disabled and the diseased.I would like to participate in charity events for the homeless, in order to raise awareness of what the less fortunate go through daily. I want people to be open-minded and understand that sometimes we have to give and not forget the underprivileged. That sometimes we are comfortable at home, while others maybe dying on the street.I am very delighted that the students and the staff at the Canadian University of Dubai have collaborated in order to raise money for the Dubai Women and Children Shelter, and I would be more than pleased to support the university, and I look forward to help the poor any way I can.
